Gregg W. Schulze

Gregg W. Schulze, age 76, of Botkins, passed away on Wednesday, June 25,2025, at Hospice of Central Ohio in Columbus.  He was born on January 20, 1949, to the late Dr. Gilbert and Geneva (Reynolds) Schulze.  On December 10, 1977, he married Annette (Buck) Schulze and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Gregg is survived by two children: Amy (JD) Matarazzo of Davenport, FL, and Ian (Sara) Schulze of Botkins; eleven grandchildren: Dakota, Paige, Trentin, Dalton, Blaine, Garhett (wife, Lauryn), Paige (Fiancé, Ben Brautigam), Morgan, Allisyn, Carson and Reid; one great granddaughter: Marie; and siblings: Scott (Suzy) Schulze of Troy, and Helene (Cort) Dondero of Chattanooga, TN.

Gregg was a 1967 graduate of Sidney High School.  He retired from Cargill after 35 years.  Gregg was of the Lutheran faith.  He loved spending time outdoors, especially being around water. He spent many hours at the river that flowed behind their longtime home. He would take long walks in the woods and teach his children and grandchildren about different plants and animals. He was an avid reader of history and took a special interest in World War II and loved to discuss the topic with others. He was a very polite person.  People would ask him how he was and he always answered: “Better than I deserve!”

Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
