Gerald L. "Jerry" Seitz

August 26, 1941 ~ January 31, 2021 (age 79)


Gerald Lee “Jerry” Seitz, age 79, of Sidney, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021.

He was born August 26, 1941 in Lima, to the late Vernon Seitz and Waneta (Garrett) Seitz. On January 14, 1960, he married Margaret Louise (Dunbar) Seitz and she survives.  Also surviving  are son, Bruce Seitz of Sidney, daughter, Tina Walsh of Port Jefferson, grandchildren; Nick Walsh, Jessica Walsh, Maggie Walsh, brothers; Donald (Judy) Seitz of Botkins, Terry (Marlene) Seitz of Lima, sister, Sandra (Terry) Wilt of Botkins and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother, Richard Seitz.

Jerry was of the Methodist faith.  He was a 1959 graduate of Sidney High School. He retired from Sidney Truck & Storage in Sidney. He was Past Master of the Masonic Temple #305 in Port Jefferson and a 32nd Degree Mason with the Shriner Organization for many years. He was president of the Shelby County Deer Hunters Association.

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting many guns.  He loved attending the many activities at the Shelby County Deer Hunters Association.  He also loved spending time with his loving wife and family and the many trips taken with his grandson.  He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Shelby County Deer Hunters Association, 7988 Johnston Slagle Road, Sidney.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, 3229 Burnet Avenue #3018, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.
