Gerald T. Miller, age 82, of Jackson Center, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1939, in Logan County, OH, to the late Harold T. and Harriett Myrtle (Metz) Miller. On June 21, 1958, he married Shirley Lou (Brown) Miller and she survived.
In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by two daughters: Patricia Glass of Jackson Center and Jasmine Miller of Dayton; two granddaughters: Heather (Max) Stewart of Botkins and Holly (Adam) Shoffner of Anna; and seven great grandchildren: Elijah Stewart, Payton Stewart, Owen Steinke, Colton Shoffner, Boston Stewart, William Stewart and Lennox Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Gerald proudly served as a member of the Jackson Center Fire Department for 27 years, Jackson Center Police Department for 13 years and Shelby County Sheriff’s Department for 21 years. He was employed by Airstream in Jackson Center for 23 years and Honda of America in Anna for 15 years. Gerald attended Grace Lutheran Church of Jackson Center. He loved doing yard work and working in his garden. He was also a huge sports fan, especially Ohio State football, Anna Football, Jackson Center and Botkins basketball and Jackson Center volleyball. He also loved playing with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Gerald was a 9 years survivor of cancer.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH 45365.
