Gaylord Lee Gates, Sr.

Gaylord Lee Gates, Sr., age 84, of Sidney, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at his residence.  He was born on September 2, 1938, in Logan County, OH, to the late Wilbert and Sadie (Hayes) Gates.

Gaylord is survived by three children: Nena Marie Balckwell of Spokane, WA, Gaylord (Debbie) Gates, Jr., of Sidney and Gayann (Terry) Didier of Piqua; and fifteen grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson; four brothers; and five sisters.

Gaylord retired from Copeland Corporation after 40 years.  He was of the Catholic faith.  Gaylord proudly served his country as a member of the US Army.  He loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends.

Private graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.  Arrangements are being handled by Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH.
