Garneth "Lee" Ward

Garneth “Lee” Ward, age 83, of Sidney, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.  He was born on April 28, 1941, in Somerset, KY, to the late Cecil and Dorothy (Dalton) Ward.  On January 2, 1960, he married Linda Sue (Bothel) Ward and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2014.

Lee is survived by four children: Terry (Doris) Ward of Sidney, Steve (Dawn) Ward of Bremen, GA, Veronica “Susie” Ward of Sidney and Nancy Timmons of Sidney; three sisters: Shirley Wine, Sheri Reck and Kaye Parker, all of Sidney; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother: Gale Ward.

Lee proudly served his country as a member of the US Army National Guard.  He retired from the City of Sidney Parks District and was a truck driver for 30 years.  Lee was a member of Sidney Eagles, Sidney Masonic Lodge and First Church of the Nazarene.  He was an avid Sidney High School sports fan, especially football where he watched his sons play and coach.  Lee enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, bowling, golfing and playing cards.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with Pastor Chad Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in  Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.  Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
