Ethel J. (Luther) Herbert

Ethel J. Herbert, age 76, of Sidney, passed away peacefully, October 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at Kettering Hospital, Kettering.  She was born June 18, 1947, in Wapakoneta, to the late Russell Luther and Alice (Mees) Luther.

She married Jerry Herbert on June 27, 1970, and he preceded her in death February 24, 2022.

Ethel is survived by children; Mike (Shannon) Herbert of Crestview, Florida, Melissa (Roger) Griffith of Sidney, four grandchildren; Cody, Zachary, Shane, Michaela, great grandchildren; Tresslyn, Parker and Archie. Also surviving is brother Donald “Dick” Luther of Troy, sisters; Charlotte Luther and Julie White of Sidney.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.

Ethel was a member of the Connection Point Church of God in Sidney.  She was a 1965 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and worked at Sears for many years.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and many friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Connection Point Church of God, 1510 Campbell Road, Sidney. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Mark Kauffman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Connection Point Church of God, 1510 Campbell Road, Sidney, in Ethel’s memory.
