Ernest Lee Heintz, age 86, of Anna, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Sidney.
He was born May 14, 1934 in Shelby County, Ohio to the late Willard Heintz Sr. and Letha (Bertsch) Heintz. On May 14, 1955, he married Lee A. (Ball) Heintz and she survives.
Also surviving is daughter, Debra (Rick) Hagan of Sidney, three grandchildren; Jennifer (Rusty) Shaffer, Jake (Breezy) Yinger, Joe (Wendy) Yinger, seven great-grandchildren; Wyatt Shaffer, Jarrett Yinger, Zachary Shaffer, Jada Yinger, Jadyn Yinger, Spencer Yinger, and Britton Yinger. Two sisters, Lola Heintz of Sidney and Nancy Martin of Sidney also survive.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph Heintz and Willard Heintz Jr.
Ernest was retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation in Shelby County. He was a former Franklin Township Trustee. He attended the United Methodist Church. He was associated with the Piqua Dog Club. Ernest enjoyed attending tractor pulls, building and flying model airplanes. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery, Swanders.
