Dorothy Jane (Anderson) Thompson

Dorothy Jane Thompson, age 92, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home in Wapakoneta.  She was born May 7, 1931, in Tipp City, Ohio, to the late Harold Anderson and Cora (Hughes) Anderson.

On December 24, 1949, Dorothy married Charles Thompson and he preceded her in death May 24, 2014.

Left to cherish her memory are children, Dolly (Charlie) Broerman of New Bremen, Shawn (Amy) Thompson of Wapakoneta, grandchildren; Mark Thompson, Roxanne Hepfer, Justin Thompson, Christopher Broerman, Shannon (Broerman) Stape, Tianna Thompson and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Mark Thompson, and sons; Chuck Thompson, John Thompson, brother, John Anderson and sister, Ruby Fridley.

Dorothy was of the Christian faith and a member of the Connection Point Church.

She was Valedictorian of her senior class of 1949 at Tipp City High School. She had worked many years at the Spot Restaurant and also at Arby’s in Sidney. She was an avid player of crossword puzzles and an avid Elvis Presley fan.  She loved taking bus trips with her late husband. Dorothy was blessed with an immaculate memory since childhood.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Kauffman officiating.  Burial will follow at the Plattsville Cemetery, Plattsville, Ohio.
