Donald M. Pulfer, age 97, of Anna, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his son’s residence. He was born November 29, 1923 in Jackson Center, Ohio to the late George Pulfer Jr., and Cora (Coverstone) Pulfer.
He married Margaret “Bernie” (Maggert) Pulfer on April 28, 1946 and she passed away December 3, 1988. On December 28, 1991, he married Elizabeth (Fishbaugh) Pulfer and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2008.
Donald is survived by children ; Bonnie (Jerry) Schmidt of Piqua, Twilah (Jerry) Swiger of Maplewood, Scott (Dawn) Pulfer of Anna, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters; Estelle Wooley of Wapakoneta and Doris Coon of Urbana. Don is also survived by three half siblings, James Pulfer, Rodney Pulfer and Sherri Bejarano all from the Lima area.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ed Pulfer and Dennis Pulfer and his brother, Dale Pulfer.
Donald proudly served in the U S Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Sidney American Legion Post 217 and St. Jacobs Lutheran Church of Anna. He retired after 40 years of faithful service as a Machinist from Monarch Machine in Sidney. Donald enjoyed racing go carts in his younger years and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He loved to tinker around on his old cars. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Harry Peterson, officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson with full military honors performed by the US Navy and Sidney Veterans Honor Guard.
