Daniel R. Wildermuth, age 65 of Sidney, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Wilson Health.
Daniel was born in Sidney, on July 30, 1959, to the late Lawrence R. Wildermuth and Charlotte D. (Limbert) Wildermuth. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Sherri (Stump) Wildermuth.
He is also survived by his son Scott Wildermuth, his daughter Dara (Charley) Teasley, his grandchildren Charlotte, Coraline and Augustus Teasley, his brother Darren (Deborah) Wildermuth, nephews Chase and Clay Wildermuth, Uncle Eldred Kipp, Aunt and Uncle Sam and Linda Limbert, Aunt and Uncle Don and Judy Fahnestock and many other cousins.
Daniel was a 1977 Graduate of Sidney High School. During his high school career, he was on the football team and wrestling team. He was in the Shelby County Deputy Explorer Program. He received his associate degree in criminal justice at Edison State College. He retired from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department after 31 years, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. He was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Sidney.
Daniel loved to watch reruns of Gun Smoke, Bonazza, and The Andy Griffith Show. He was an avid Ohio State, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Browns fan. After he retired, he worked in security at Copeland Corporation and loved to babysit his grandchildren. He loved to bowl. He enjoyed coaching his children’s sports. He coached his son’s IUTIS team and his daughter’s fast pitch softball team. He never missed any of his children’s games.
Friends and family may call on Friday June 13th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Adams Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 pm with Rev. Steve Edmiston officiating. Burial to follow at Glen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, IUTIS, and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation in his memory.
