Catherine Marie (Honn) Wille

Catherine Marie (Honn) Wille, age 92, of Sidney went home to be with the Lord August 15, 2023. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 11, 1930 in Brook, Indiana to her parents Ira and Etta May (Lacey) Honn. She is survived by her daughter Connie (Mike) Fogt of Piqua, and her son Randy (Kathy) Wille of Florida, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Duaine Howard Wille, her son Terry Wille, and grandson Brad Wille.

She came from a farming family with 8 children, 2 boys and 6 girls. When she left the farm in 1949, she went to Minnesota Bible college where she met her husband Duaine. They married in 1950 and moved to Guide Rock, Nebraska in 1952 where Duaine began his ministry. Their work in the ministry continued at churches in Hamburg, Iowa, Mishawaka, Indiana, and finally in Sidney, Ohio in 1968 where they settled. Catherine spent part of her life working as a nurse’s aid at Dorothy Love nursing home. She was an avid reader and loved to learn. She studied history, the Bible and was steadfast in her faith. She loved her church family dearly.  She loved hummingbirds, gardening, and made what could be considered world class roast beef and noodles. She also made a famous peanut butter pie that was so good it would make even the most resolute pacifist fight over the last piece.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 21, 2023, at North Broadway Church of Christ in Sidney, 2655 North Broadway Ave., Sidney, with Pastor Brent Wright officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco.   Arrangements are in the care of Adams Funeral Home.
