Carol A. (Starrett) Pearson

Carol A. Pearson, 88, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  She was a resident of Piqua Manor Nursing Home.

She was born January 15, 1935, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Gladys (Cisco) Starrett.  She married Robert Pearson, Jr. on June 21, 1957; he preceded her in death on August 4, 2002.

Survivors include one daughter, Marie Poeppelman of Houston, three grandsons and nine great grandchildren:  Thomas and Jodi Poeppelman and their children; Tucker, Breanna and Elliot of Hilliard, Joseph and Stephanie Poeppelman and their children; Cooper, Jared and Ellen, of Houston, and Matthew and Katie Poeppelman and their children; Aldin, Jenna and Wyatt, of Piqua.  She had many great neighbors who looked over her throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Roger Pearson, brother John Starrett and sisters; Thelma O’Reilly and Marilyn Cecil, son in law, Ronald Poeppelman and special friend, Louis Haas.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sidney.  She loved to read and enjoyed playing bingo at the nursing home.  Her eyes would light up when she saw her grandsons and great-grandkids.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Kris Geise, officiating.  Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson.
