Brenda S. (Hammonds) Schmiesing

Brenda S. Schmiesing, age 77, of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Hospice of Miami County, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born April 19, 1948, in Kingsport, TN., to Massie Hammonds and Kathleen (Larkins) Hammonds.

On July 26, 1980, she married Mark Schmiesing and he survives.

Also surviving are three children: Dan (Amy) Francis of Sidney, Rob (Tracy) McVety of Maplewood, Aaron (Melissa) Lacy of Sidney, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, sister Nena Hawkins and brother Ronnie Hammonds of Jacksonville, Florida.

Brenda was preceded in death by daughter Brenda Scott and sisters, Marie Wright and Peggy Turner.

Brenda retired from Copeland Corporation in Sidney after many years of faithful service. She was of the Catholic faith, enjoyed crocheting and painting her artwork.  She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 9 – 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Tompkins officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County in Brenda’s memory.
