Bob Schloss Obituary

BOB V. SCHLOSS, age 92, of Sidney, died on Sunday, August 19, 2018, surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He endured a courageous battle with congestive heart failure and sclerosis of the liver.  Bob was born at the family home in Houston, OH on December 30, 1925 to George and Esta (Huston) Schloss.  On September 8, 1945, he married Helen Henrietta Andrews.  She preceded him in death on July 19, 1999.

Bob is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Carol Schloss, Jeannie and Bill Olding and Sherri and Brent Clay; one son and his wife: Daniel and Becky Schloss; one sister: Doris Cook; grandchildren: Bill and Nikki Olding, Bryan and Sara Olding, Robert Schloss and Jessica, Sheila and Randy Bensman, Scott and Amber Schloss, Monica Thumma, Jodi and Matt King and Rita Schloss; and seventeen great grandchildren: Grace, Evie and CJ Olding, Ryan and Alyssa Schloss, Madison and Mikayla Pierce, Macie Thumma and Braylon Rhodeheffer, Alex Olding, Reagan and McKinley Schloss, Kyle, Henry and Oliver Bensman and Bell Hickman.  In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by one great grandson: Ethan Bensman.

Bob retired from Copeland Corporation in 1989.  In his younger days, Bob was a great bowler, avid fisherman and loved working outdoors in his garden.  Many times, he took his children and great grandchildren with him fishing.  In his later years, he enjoyed following his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s baseball, basketball, football and soccer games.  Bob was always there to cheer them on.  Bob also loved the Atlanta Braves and Ohio State Buckeyes, scratching off lottery tickets and watching MSNBC.  He was an exceptional man who always helped others before himself.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Private family services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Funeral Home in Sidney.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.theadamsfuneralhome.com.
