Betty Bennett

Betty Ruth (Longworth) Bennett, age 82, of Sidney, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 23, 2018. She was born August 26, 1936 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late John Wesley Longworth and late Rebecca Eva (Engle) Longworth. She married the love of her life, Ivan Ray Bennett, on August 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death November 3, 2018.

Betty is survived by children Reba (Bowman Dale) Woods of Bellefontaine, Conda (Thomas) Fernandez of Ft. Loramie, Sandy (Thomas) Wise of Sidney, Linda Edmondson of Nancy, Kentucky, Lisa (Ken) Minniear of Sidney, Kelli Stiver of Anna; 24 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Laura Jean; grandson Dustin Wise; sisters Edith Griffith, Virginia Oranell Cupp, Jaqueline Longworth; brothers Robert Longworth, Charles William Longworth, Roy Eugene Longworth, John Longworth, and James Longworth.

Betty worked in food service at various restaurants in Shelby County and was a very outgoing people person. She had boundless energy and was a hard worker in every endeavor she took on. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and traveling with her husband. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a wonderful cook for her six daughters and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Family and friends may call Friday, December 28, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Sidney Baptist Church, 1322 E. Court Street, Sidney, Ohio. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Tom Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Pearl Cemetery.
