BARBARA SUE TURNER, age 73, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born on January 9, 1948 in Black Mountain, KY to the late James and Rebecca (Woods) Hale. On May 26, 1967, she married Rodney Turner, and he survives in Sidney.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by three children: Jenny (Michael) Maxwell, Melanie (Ben) Hinds, both of Sidney, and Jeffrey (Rachel) Turner of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; six grandchildren: Lindsy Pierce, Grace Rader, Taylor Maxwell, Benjamin Hinds, Alexis Hinds, and Elizabeth Maxwell; and two special nieces: Brenda Martin and Allison Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters: Annette Hale, Polly Ray, Irene Cloud, Margaret Jones, Wanda Williams, and Alice Farmer; and five brothers: Phillip Hale, Willie Hale, James Hale, Ernest Hale, and Junior Hale.
Barbara was a member of New Life Church in Port Jefferson. She was a devoted Christian and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, listening to gospel music, and playing cards. She was a gifted conversationalist who made everyone feel welcome in her home. Barbara will be remembered as a kind and caring woman who always had room for others, both in her heart and at her kitchen table.
Private family services will be held at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
