Barbara J. Fry, age 74, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at her Sidney residence. She was born April 5, 1949, in Shelby County, to the late Ralph Wenrick and Patricia Uffner.
She married William Fry on October 31, 1987, and he survives in Sidney.
Also surviving are son, Michael (Jill) Bisbee of Sidney and daughter, Stephanie Fry of Sidney, stepson, Theodore Howell of West Liberty, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren, brothers; Gary (Linda) Wenrick of Toledo and Ron Wenrick of Sidney. She was preceded in death by stepson, William Fry.
Barbara was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Houston High School and Miami Valley School of Nursing. She served in the U S Air Force for five years as a Captain. During her working career, she was instrumental in starting the Home Health Care Unit at Piqua Hospital. She also worked at Wilson Hospital, Dorothy Love and The Koester Pavilion.
She loved taking care of people, camping and collecting plates. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Funeral service will be held on February 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ with Pastor James Oates officiating.
Donations may be made to Wilson Hospice in Barbara’s memory.
