Alvera M. Thaman, age 94, Botkins, August 18, 2022, at her residence. She was born at home on December 17, 1927, to the late Louis and Rosa (Eilerman) Seger. Later that day, her godparents took her to church to be baptized. On July 8, 1948, Vera married Lawrence Thaman at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, and he survives
Vera is survived by daughter: James and Elizabeth Cole of Sidney; sons: William and Kathy Thaman, Sr., of Milford Center and Mark Thaman of Anna; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister: Isabella (John dec.) Subler of Versailles; and brothers-in-law: Frank (Virginia dec.) Thaman of Sidney and Leo (Barbara dec.) Thaman of Tuscon, AZ In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters: Bernadine (Carl Sr.) Clune, Rosella (Cyril) Monnier, Mary Ida (Delbert) Grilliot, Anna Seger and Ruth Seger; one brother: Linus (Juanita) Seger; four brothers-in-law: Paul Thaman, Ralph (Maryann) Thaman, Arthur (Luedna) Thaman and Urban (Marilyn) Thaman; and one daughter-in-law: Mary (Pleiman) Thaman.
Vera was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins, where she was a Eucharist Minister. She was also previously an EMT with both Anna and Botkins Rescue Squads. Vera enjoyed cooking and baking cookies, especially gingerbread cookies, and taking walks.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 26 ,2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins with Fr. Sean Wilson as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Botkins. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 on Thursday and 9:00–9:45 AM on Friday at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.
