Phyllis Strunk

PHYLLIS PEARL (CARTER) STRUNK, age 83, of Sidney, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Wilson Health.  She was born on June 22, 1935 to the late John and Grace (Sumner) Carter in Whitney City, KY.  Phyllis was preceded in death by two husbands: Samuel J. Herd and James G. Strunk.

Phyllis is survived by children: Jim (Diane) Strunk, Jr. of Sidney, Janine (Tim) Elmore of Sidney; step-daughter: Lorraine Herd of Sidney; grandchildren: Mark Strunk, Bethany Kimbler, Jordan Elmore and Joshua Elmore; great grandchildren: Destiny Strunk, Xavier Strunk, Melody Strunk, Jackson Kimbler and Brielle Kimbler; and siblings: Barb Carter, Joyce Marcum and John Carter, Jr., all of Whitley City, Kentucky.  In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Lynda Strunk; two brothers Jack and Ted Carter; one sister Judy Carter (Hammock); and one step-son: James Herd.

Phyllis was a member of Northtowne Church of God in Sidney.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.  Phyllis sold for L. B. Price Company.  She was also a greeter for Wal-Mart.  Phyllis enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.

Friends may call Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Service will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Adams Funeral Home in Sidney with Pastor Tim Bartee officiating.  Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney.
