Patricia A. “Pat” Schaffner, age 71, of Sidney, passed away May 29, 2017 at the Pavilion Nursing Home in Sidney.
Pat was born on June 2, 1945 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Edward and Mabel (Pence) Russell. On June 20, 1964, she married Jerry Schaffner and he survives in Sidney.
Pat is survived by children; Brian Edward and Patty Schaffner, Kevin Schaffner, Jason and Tracy Schaffner, all of Sidney, grandchildren, Brandon and Madison, siblings; Robert and Marie Russell of Rosewood, Melvin and Esther Kiser of Piqua, Rosemary Lemmon of Piqua, Frank and Betty Barhorst of Piqua, Charlotte Millhoff of Tipp City and Caroline Huffman of Sidney.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Chester, Lester and Ronnie Russell, sister, Evelyn Fair, brother-in laws, Ira Fair, Rich Millhoff, Mike Huffman, Charlie Lemmon and sister-in-laws, Marcene Russell and Mary Ann Russell.
Pat loved attending her flower garden, crocheting, singing, and attending the Shelby County Fair. She loved spending time with her family and cats.
She was a member of the Hardin United Methodist Church. Pat worked in the Emergency Room and Occupational Medicine at Wilson Health Hospital, she retired after 32 years of faithful work.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hardin United Methodist Church, 6073 Hardin Wapakoneta Road, Sidney, with Pastor Jack Chalk officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Hardin.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, from 4 – 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hardin United Methodist Church and/or the Shelby County Junior Fair Board in Pat’s memory.
The staff of Adams Funeral Home has been entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
