Marie Frances Russell

Marie Frances (Kies) Russell, age 80, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018. She was born September 24, 1938, in Sidney (Orange Township), Ohio to father John William Kies and mother Amanda Marie (Wittenbrink) Kies who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Robert Lewis Russell on June 2, 1962, who survives.
 

Marie is survived by step-children: Tina (Charles) Jones of Jackson Center and Tim Russell of Sidney, and by children: Jayne Russell of Kiev, Ukraine, Theodore (Monica) Russell of Springfield, Missouri, Janice (Glenn) Thebert of Rosewood; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Elmer (Cheryl) Kies of Sidney; sister in law Carolyn Kies of West Liberty. She was preceded in death by sister Mary Ann Russell and brother Harold Kies.
 

Marie was a life-long member of St Paul’s United Church of Christ and actively participated in ministry out of love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She graduated from Fairlawn Local School and a secretarial school in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She worked at Pioneer Rural Electric, Baumfolder Corporation and as a cook at Fairlawn Local School. She was a past member of the Maplewood Grange. She volunteered for many charities and community organizations.
 

Family and friends may call Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home, Sidney. Services will be held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Sidney Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor James Oates officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery.
