Julie Magee Obituary

Julie Ann (Shockey) Magee, age 75 of Sidney, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born August 1, 1943 at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio to father James Louis “Mike” Shockey and mother Louella (Wolph) Shockey who preceded her in death. On October 5, 1963 she married Gary Magee of Sidney who survives her.

Julie is survived by son Christopher Magee of Piqua; daughter Louisiana (Bruce) Lee of Sidney; daughter Tina Lynn of Sidney; brother James (Sally) Shockey of Indianapolis, Indiana: three grandchildren: Haley Magee of Piqua, Mitchell Lee of Sidney, and Andrew (Kimberlee) Lee of Hawaii. She was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Magee.

Julie worked at Wendy’s in Sidney for many years. She was a member of Lockington United Methodist Church and Sidney Methodist Church. She sang in the choir. She loved doing puzzles and had a cat named “Baby Doll” whom she will miss dearly. She graduated from Wapakoneta High School in 1961 and attended the Lima branch of Nursing where she fell in love with the love of her life, Gary.  

Friends and family may call Tuesday, September 18 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Sidney. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 19 at 10:00 AM at Adams Funeral Home with Reverend Harold McKnight officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
