Joan (Leiss) Kinninger

Joan Kinninger, age 89, of Maplewood, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at her residence.

Joan was born May 21, 1929 in Port Jefferson, Ohio to the late William A. and Matilda (Wilt) Leiss. On July 4, 1946, she married Delphos “Doc” Kinninger who preceded her in death June 4, 1994.

She is survived by daughter, Geneva Kinninger of Lake Wales, Florida, sons; Gene “Boxer” (Karen) Kinninger of Shawno, Wisconsin, Philip Kinninger of Sidney, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sister, Mary Bell of Bellefontaine, and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Diane Kinninger, six brothers, and two sisters.

Joan was a member of the Sidney Baptist Church, she retired from Copeland Corporation after39 years of faithful service. She loved to bake, cook and enjoyed listening to country music. Joan loved to go fishing and had a great sense of humor, she was always laughing with friends and family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m.

at the Sidney Baptist Church, 1322 E. Court Street, Sidney, with Rev. John Butts, officiating.  Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery in Swanders, Ohio.
