James Leo Henman, age 83 of Sidney, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2018.
Jim was born on August 28, 1934 to the late Wilbur and Frances (Crusey) Henman. He spent his life as a resident of Sidney and married the love of his life, Thelma Frances (Speelman) Henman in 1955. Together they had three children. Jim was employed at LeRoi Dresser for 33 years and, along with his wife, was a custodian at First Federal Savings and Loan for 15 years, and local lawyers’ offices since the early 1990’s.
In retirement, Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren, whom he treasured. He spent much of his time with family and friends, was a car enthusiast, loved playing cards, woodworking, watching old Western movies, and traveling. He enjoyed fellowship with friends at the Senior Center in town. Jim has always had a servant’s heart. His whole life was an example of offering a helping hand where he could. He was a hard worker and had a “never say die” spirit. He was a truly humble gentleman. He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor and will be deeply missed.
Jim is survived by his spouse, Thelma; daughters Beverly (Matthew) Hanson and children Blake and Kasey; Helen (Dennis) Koesters and their children Bryan and Jenna; son Dennis (Jennifer) Henman and children Brandon and Drew; sister Jeanette Carter; brother Dick Henman; and their families. Jim was preceded in death by his sister Mary Comer; and brothers Wilbur Jr. Henman, Tom Henman, Joe Henman, and Ray Henman.
