Harold Edward Langston

Harold Edward Langston, age 96, of Sidney, passed away January 22, 2018, at Fair Haven Nursing Home in Sidney.

He was born May 8, 1921 in Shelby County to the late Wilbur and Rebecca (Goode) Langston.

On June 9, 1939, he married Bernice (Ely) Langston and she preceded him in death July 14, 2010.

Harold is survived by children; Darrell (Sandra) Langston of Houston, Harold Edward (Elaine) Langston Jr. of Versailles, Lonnie (Lynn) Langston of Carmel, Indiana, Barbara Hughes of Sidney, Craig (Brenda) Langston of Sidney, 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 41 great-great grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by brother, Richard Langston, son-in-law, Bobby Hughes and great- granddaughter, Rhayna Stryker.

Harold was a veteran of the US Marines. He retired from D P & L after 33 years of faithful service. He was a Brakeman on the New York Central Railroad for several years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Versailles. He loved to bowl, hunt, fish, trap, and was also a member of the Ohio Trappers Association. He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. 

Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral services will be Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Akins officiating.  Burial will follow at Houston Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital in Harold’s memory.
