Emma Lou (Meeker) Cornett

Emma Lou Cornett, age 79, of Sidney passed away peacefully on July 18, 2018 at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1939 in St. Paris, Ohio to father Henry Meeker and mother Emma Runkle (Meeker) who preceded her in death.

Emma is survived by her partner of over 48 years, Marilyn K. Briggs of Sidney, Ohio; children David (Kelly) Cornett of Sidney, Robin (Lester) Mowery of Piqua; sister Shirley (Wilbur (Butch)) Hild of St. Paris; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Emma graduated from Johnston St. Paris school in 1957.She is retired from Copeland after 32 years of service. She loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens, fishing, and absolutely adored Ohio State football. Her favorite show was Mountain Men, which she enjoyed watching with family and friends. She loved the outdoors and sitting on her front porch swing.

Friends and family may call on July 23, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home with services to follow at 12 p.m. Pastors Charla Grieves and Tommy Jones will be officiating services. Burial will take place at Graceland Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Saint Jude’s Research Hospital.

Adams Funeral Home in Sidney, Ohio will be caring for the needs of the Cornett family.
