Dennis Worthington Obituary

Dennis Caven Worthington, age 66, of Sidney, passed away September 28, 2018, at Hospice of Miami County, Ohio. 

Dennis was born April 22, 1952 in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Norman and Janet (Evilsizor) Worthington.  On July 1, 1977, he married Diane (Drees) Worthington and she survives.

He is survived by daughter, Tia Worthington and fiance’ Dirk Brower of San Angelo, Texas, son, Phillip Worthington and fiance’ Brookie Williams of Wapakoneta, five grandchildren; Kaylee Puckett, Caleb Puckett, Seth Puckett, Shabryanna Worthington, Caven Worthington, two step-grandchildren, Brady and Eli Freed.  Also surviving are sister, Darlene (Dan) McEowen of Fletcher, and brother, Terry (Beth) Worthington of Homosassa, Florida.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Amanda Worthington.

Dennis proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a member of Holy Angeles Catholic Church in Sidney, a 1972 graduate of Graham High School and a member of AmVets Post 1986 of Sidney.Dennis was retired from Copeland Corporation in Sidney.

He enjoyed attending the Dayton Dragons, Cincinnati Reds baseball games, Ohio State football, Nascar, camping and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Frank Amberger officiating.  Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery with full military honors performed by American Legion Post 217 and the US Navy.

Family and friends may visit from 4 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.
