Claudine S. (Hacker) Grewe

Claudine Grewe, age 78, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Miami Valley Hospital. She is survived by husband, Richard V. Grewe, of Sidney.

Born May 26, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN., Claudine Sue Hacker was the second child of Virginia (Higgins) and Julius Cecil Hacker, who preceded her in death.  Also preceding her was a sister, Donna Jean (Hacker) Cathcart, brothers in law, Joseph Cathcart and Franklin Weatherhead, stepson, Jim Zwiebel and nephew, Robin Cathcart.

Surviving her are sisters, Nadyne (Hacker) Weatherhead, Anna; Candace (Weber) Sharp, Sidney; brothers, Julius Cecil Hacker, Charlotte, NC; Tyra Frank Weber, Sidney; Eric Weber, Anna and their spouses, Terry Sharp, Gloria Hacker, Vicky Weber and Lori Weber.  Also surviving are children, Curtis (LuAnn) Lefever, Athol, MA; Brenda Keel, Texas; Christopher (Teresa) Lefever, Sidney; Gingia Martin, Sidney; Brian Lefever, Troy; Amanda (Tim) Emans of Botkins.

Stepdaughters Deb Zwiebel, Anna; Christine Battaglia, Dayton; and Donna Helton. Dayton.

Stepsons, John Zwiebel, Lima; Richard Grewe, MI; Daniel Grewe, Anthony Grewe, and David Grewe, all of Dayton, OH.

Eleven grandchildren include: Rob, Jackie, Thomas, Stephen, Mike, Amber, Devon, Brittany, Danielle, Paige and Connor.  Seven great grandchildren are Jackson, Cody, Mallory, Kyzen, Violet, McKayla and Major.  Twenty three nephews and nieces survive.

Grewe was a 1958 Sidney High School graduate. She retired from Copeland Corp. before moving to Danville, KY.  The couple then returned to Sidney, residing here the last twenty years.

Following Mrs. Grewe’s directive, a private service for immediate family only, will be held on Thursday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Pearl Cemetery in Anna with Rev. Terry Sharp and Rev. Frank Amberger officiating.
