Ceburn Dalton, age 89, of Sidney passed away at his residence on September 5, 2017 at 8:43 p.m. A reunion took place in heaven as he reunited with family and friends.
He was born February 27, 1928, in Naomi, KY., the son of the late Carl and Oma (Tarter) Dalton. On March 29, 1952 he married Beatrice (Foster) Dalton who survives, along with two children, Dexter (Cheri) Dalton of Sidney, Pattie (Dennis) Stearley of Ft. Loramie, three granddaughters, Carri (Dave) Jones of Sidney, Amber (Joe) Lanclos and Amanda Dalton of Houston, TX., four great grandchildren, Mason, Jackson and Kobi Jones of Sidney and Hailey Dalton of Houston, TX., five step grandchildren, Sean, Mitch, Chris, Jessica and Carly. He is also survived by four sisters, Delthia Smallwood of Somerset, KY., Audrey Hughes, Sylvia Elmore and Jean Slusser, all of Sidney and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Mr. Dalton retired from Copeland Corporation after 35 years of faithful service. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was a born again, saved and sanctified Christian. He was the hands and feet of Jesus Christ where he traveled to Trinidad and Mexico on a mission trip, helped plant the giving garden behind the church for those who were in need and distributed to the Agape Center in Sidney, mowed the church grounds and mowed for family, friends and neighbors. He served on the church board for several years. He loved supporting the church and soft ball games.
He loved life, family and friends and he had a very special friend, Denver Bucanaur. He was a big UK fan and loved playing Rook and Uno with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1899 Wapakoneta Avenue, Sidney with the Rev. Chad Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney.
The family will receive friends and family on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice of Sidney or the First Church of the Nazarene in Ceburn’s memory.
