Betty L. Huber, age 98 of Anna, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born on March 18, 1920 in Springhills, Ohio to father John Rouse and mother Bonnie Hazel (Hill) Rouse and they preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, William L. Huber on May 12, 1938 and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1983.
Betty is survived by children Jack D (Candy) Huber of Sidney, Janet (and the late Donald W) Poppe of Anna; grandchildren Jason (Kylie) Huber, Jennifer Huber, Jerome Huber, Jill Summers, Patti Jo (Paul) Livingston, Bonnie (Michael) Carity, Christopher Poppe; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by sister Marjorie Calland.
Betty enjoyed playing games, cards, and traveling to Coldwater, Michigan. As a young child, she worked at a grocery store in Springhills for 10 cents an hour as well as helping elders clean their homes. After marriage, Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. She was born as a 2 pound preemie baby, but made it through this world swaddled by the stove to keep her warm and with plenty of hugs and kisses. She loved spending time with her family and friends. In her later years, she looked forward to her car rides for ice cream.
Family and friends may call Friday, December 7, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home. Viewing will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Emanuel Lutheran Church with services to follow at 10:00 AM, officiated by Pastor David Sanders. Burial will be held at Greenwood Union Cemetery in DeGraff, OH.
