Thomas E. Maddy

Thomas E. Maddy, age 75, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit.  He was born on June 19, 1947, in Bellefontaine, to the late Melvin and Monabell (Hoffman) Maddy.  On July 17, 1971, he married Rita (Shaner) Maddy.  She preceded him in death on December 31, 2005.

Tom is survived by three children: Mitchell (Mandy) Maddy of Maplewood, Eric (Kathi) Maddy of Swamico, WI and Kevin (Susan) Maddy of Quincy; brother: Gary Maddy of DeGraff; and grandchildren: Austin (Fiancé’ Shelby Davis) Maddy, Drew Maddy, Zackary Maddy, Zayne Maddy, Aaron Maddy and Garret Maddy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Robert Maddy; and one sister: Connie Iler.

Tom proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force.  He was a member of Sidney American Legion Post 217.  Tom enjoyed bowling in leagues.  He also was a NASCAR and Cleveland Brown’s fan.  Tom was very hard working and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He loved his dog, Dixie.  Tom was formerly employed at World Class Plastic in Indian Lake and Pleasant Precision in Kenton.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13, 2022,  at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney.  Full military service will be performed by the United States Air Force and Shelby County Veterans.
