Shirley Ann (Young) Kies

Shirley Ann Kies, age 83, of Sidney, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Fairhaven Nursing Home, Sidney.  She was born January 1, 1938 near Maplewood, Ohio to the late Carl E. and Beulah (Zimpfer) Young.

She married Richard Kies April 25, 1959 in Jackson Center, Ohio, and he survives in Sidney. Also surviving are two daughters, Connie Conroy of Cincinnati and Cathy Kies of Sidney; granddaughter Sarah D’Agostino of Cincinnati and great-granddaughter,  Ava D’Agostino, sister, Mary Lou Tracy of Virginia, and several nephews and a nieces.

Shirley was preceded in death by granddaughter, Laura Conroy.

Shirley was a homemaker. She had been confirmed into the Lutheran faith.  She enjoyed lawn work, especially flowers, painting, music, reading, and sending cards and letters to family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at  1:00 p.m. at Pearl Cemetery, Swanders, with Chaplain Angela Barfield officiating. There will be no calling hours.
