Phillip Schulze

Phillip Schulze, age 67 of Sidney passed away Monday October 12, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital.

He was born August 7, 1953 in Sidney to the late Melvin and Patricia (Frantz) Schulze.

On February 15, 1980 he married Trish (Groves) Schulze and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Phil is survived by: a sister- Susan (Jerry) Wannemacher, brother- Art Schulze brother in law- Harry Groves. Nephews: Derek (Tara) Schulze, Alex Schulze, Jordan (Brandy) Schulze, Phil (Erin) Groves, Pat Groves, friend Yvonne Heber.  Nieces- Emily (Travis) Liening and Stacy (Clint) Meyer.   Aunts- Barb (Paul) Schlater, Diane (Tom) Kloeppel, Diane Schulze, Robert Schulze, Mary Lou Frantz and several great nieces and nephews.

Phil was a 1972 graduate of Sidney High School.  He belonged to Indian Lake Moose and Sidney Elks.  His working career included Frantz Brothers, B. G. Danis, Stargel Construction and retired from the Shelby County Highway department. 

He loved hunting, fishing and golf.  But most of all he loved time with friends and family.  Anyone that knew Phil knows he didn’t pass up many chances to have a beer with friends and family.  He was so kind hearted he would have given you the shirt off his back.  Many people were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Phil during his life.

Phil’s wishes were to be cremated and set free at Indian Lake where he spent many hours over the years fishing. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by father and mother in law, Harry and Ada Groves, sister in law Judith Groves and several aunts and uncles. 

Family and friends may visit on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney.  Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Phil’s memory.
