Sarah Ruth Helman

Sarah “Ruth” Helman, age 77 of Sidney, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019, at her residence. She was born May 12, 1942 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to the late C.D. Melcher and Pauline (Pullen) Melcher. She married Terry Helman of Mount Vernon, TX on April 14, 1986 and he survives.

Ruth is survived by a sister Mary Lou Russell of Wetumpka, AL; children Michael (Lynne) Overstreet of Winnsboro, TX, Suzanne Brown of Little Valley, NY, Paula Facklam of Corpus Christi, TX; stepson Ray Helman of Lookout Mountain, GA; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers Sunny McCloud and Richard Melcher and Marla Cornett of Sidney, OH.

Ruth received her LPN license in 1992 From JVS in Piqua. She enjoyed cross stitching, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Church of the Brethren in Sidney, OH. She had been in failing health since 1998.

Family will be receiving friends and visitors Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bret Driver and Pastor Arnold Collett officiating. Interment will be held at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
