Lowell F Simes

It is with great sadness the family of Lowell F Simes announces his passing at Ohio Living Dorothy Love after a brief illness on Monday Nov. 12, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Lowell will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years Maxine E  (Zimpher) Simes and his children, Penny (Gene) Simes-Daley and Daniel (Lauree) Simes. Lowell will also be fondly remembered by his 3 grandchildren, Jarrett (Whitney) Peacock, Valorie Kennedy, and Hannah Simes, by his great - grandchildren, Austin, Cienna, Lylah, Kiersten, Rowynn, Jenna, Taylor, by his brother Doyle Simes, sister DonDeena (Simes) DeHart. Lowell was preceded in death by his brother Rev. Victor (Angie) Simes, sisters Miriam (Simes) Hinkle, Marcella (Simes) Maddox, and grandson Jonathan Simes.

A Sidney native, Lowell was born November 8, 1927 the son of George D Simes and Charity B.(Turner) Simes. Lowell served in the Army as an X-ray technician during WWII. He attended Baptist Bible College in Missouri and held many positions throughout his career including house painting, several positions at Airstream, Inc., In his retirement he worked for Jim Brown Chevrolet, Presser’s Auto Parts, and his final job which he loved the most was serving the Lord as custodian at Troy Baptist Temple. Lowell loved to sing, whistle, play his harmonica, and spend time with his family.

Viewing hours will be from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday Nov. 15, 2018 Troy Baptist Temple, 691 E. Staunton Rd., Troy, OH 45373. A funeral service in memory of Lowell will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at 2 PM at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Rd., Sidney, OH 45365, with Rev. David Thomasson officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Shelby Memory Gardens. Full military honors will be performed by the US Army and the Sidney American Legion Post 217.

Memorial donations in memory of Lowell may be made to Troy Baptist Temple music ministry and Ohio Living Dorothy Love Retirement Community.
