Lois G. (Harry) DeWeese

Lois G. DeWeese, age 85, of Sidney, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 19, 2018, at her residence.

She was born November 29, 1932, in Breckenridge, Michigan to the late Clell and Esther (Miller) Harry.

She married Herbert DeWeese on June 15, 1962, and he survives.  Also surviving are children; Steve (Sharon) DeWeese of Ft. Loramie, Diane (Jeff) Simon of Indianapolis, IN., grandchildren; Adam and Morgan DeWeese, Luke, Gabe, Emilia Simon, sisters; Charlotte Johns of Davidson, MI., Emily Ode of Jackson, MI., Eva Metcalf of Jackson, MI., sister-in-law, Clara DeWeese of Sidney, She was preceded in death by brothers-in-law; Clayton Johns, Dave Ode, Bob Metcalf and Lowell DeWeese.

Lois was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sidney. She was a graduate of Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan with a Degree in Education.  She taught in Saginaw, Michigan for ten years and Sidney Parkwood School for several years.  She was also a tutor of Japanese students for many years.  She loved to spend her free time, cooking, reading and sewing.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, June 22, 2018, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1899 Wapakoneta Avenue, Sidney. Funeral services will commence at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Chad Wilson, officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in DeGraff.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice in Lois’s memory.
