Gerald Boyd

Gerald M. Boyd, age 85 of Sidney, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 4, 2019. He was born November 7, 1933 in Barlow, Kentucky to the late Robert Powell Boyd and Zelma Maxine (Pillow) Boyd. He married the love of his life, Marcia K. Haas on July 29, 1967 and she survives.

He is survived by daughter Julie (Michael) Glavicic of Avon, Indiana; grandchildren Lauren Grace Frances and Mason Avery Frances; sisters Marilyn Gayle Steen of Sun Lake, Arizona, Martha Kinelski of Greer, South Carolina; sister-in-law Cleta Haas of Dayton, Beverly (Paul) Lucas of Dayton.

Gerald was a 1961 graduate of Fairmont High School in Kettering and graduated from the University of Dayton Mechanical Engineering in 1967. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1957, then continued serving for 6 years in the Navy Reserves. He retired from Emerson Tech in 1999 after many faithful years of service. He loved to build his own race car that was featured in a racing magazine. He was a member of the Sidney First United Methodist Church.

Family and friends may call Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio, 45365. Services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Terry Sharp officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Miami Valley Memorial Garden.
