Dale G Block

Dale Gene Block, age 67 of Sidney, passed away January 9, 2020 at his residence. He was born September 8, 1952 in Coldwater, Ohio to father Francis Gene Block and mother Rosemary (Stamm) Block. He married Shirley Martin Dietz on September 13, 1997 and she survives.

Those who carry on Dale's legacy include children Shelley (Azael) Diaz of Michigan, Chelsea White of Centerville, Ohio, grandchildren Aiden and Marcos, brothers and sisters Dennis (Elizabeth) Block of St. Mary's, Richard (Roni) Block of New Bremen, Anita (Dave) Roediger of New Bremen, many cousins, nieces, nephews. Preceded in death by brothers Kenneth, William, and David Block.

Dale proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1971-1983 during Vietnam. He retired from GE Aviation in Vandallia after several faithful years. He was a 1971 graduate of New Bremen High School and Northwestern Business College in Lima. He enjoyed watching professional wrestling, traveling, going on cruises, fishing, and playing cards. He loved talking to everyone and making jokes. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Family will be receiving friends Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 9377 OH 119, Anna at 10:30 a.m with viewing prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Reverend Steve Mondiek will officiate services. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors provided by United States Air Force. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dale's memory to help offset funeral expenses. Condolences may be expressed online at theadamsfuneralhome.com.
