Mary Jo (Willms) Cole, age 84 of Sidney,  passed away of natural causes Saturday evening, October 1, 2016 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. 

She was born in Omega, Oklahoma (Kingfisher County)  April 2, 1932 to the late Joseph and Ruth Willms.  She was raised on a family farm in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.  On December 23, 1951, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, she married Charles M. Cole of Enid,Oklahoma, who survives.

Also surviving are two children, Barbara (Robert) Cochran of Loveland, Ohio  and  Michael Cole of Sidney, Ohio,  a daughter-in-law, Joanie Cole of Dayton Ohio and two grandchildren, Parker Cole of St. Louis, Missouri and Keaton Cole of Dayton, Ohio.

 She was the oldest living child of her family and is survived by siblings:  Margaret Field, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, James (Colleen) Willms of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Martha Ruth Thacker of New Orleans, Louisiana, Marlene ( Dale) Hildebrand of Choctaw, Oklahoma, August Willms of of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Marciadean (Richard)Harrison of Burleson, Texas.  She is also survived by sister-in-law, Dorthy (Cole) Hladik.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Theodora Willms.

She graduated from Oklahoma State, Stillwater, Oklahoma in May, 1953 with a degree in elementary education. She relocated to the suburbs of Washington DC in 1953, where her husband served in the U.S. Navy.   She spent most of her married life in Sidney, Ohio after relocating in 1956.  She lived at Indian Lake, Ohio for 18 years and Bonita Springs, Florida for 27 years.  She taught school in Maryland and Ohio.  Much of her life was devoted to raising her family and assisting her husband in the Sidney family farm businesses.

She enjoyed her special friends and activities in the Springcreek Village Park (Bonita Springs, Florida) and at the Indian Lake Community Church, Indian Lake, Ohio.

 Her greatest joys included hosting family dinners and enjoying special time with 2 grandchilden.

Funeral services will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio at 1:00PM on Friday, October 7, 2016 with Pastor Jim Ellington officiating.  A private family burial service at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney will follow the funeral.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Indian Lake Community Church, PO Box 457, Russells Point, Ohio 43348.   Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.theadamsfuneralhome.com.
