Janet M. Becker, age 83, of Anna, Ohio passed away, Monday, July 31, 2017 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney, Ohio. Janet was born December 22, 1933 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Andrew and Marie (Uppenkamp) Klikovits. On November 17, 1951 she married Thomas G. Becker. Janet is survived by her husband, Tom and her 7 children, Sonia (Richard “Buck”) Buehler of Anna; Michael (Beverly) Becker of Gibraltar, Michigan; Rita (Anthony “Tony”) Schemmel of Anna; Raphael (Sue) Becker of Findlay; Patti (Steven) Warren of Greenville; Ted (Jana) Becker of Sidney; Bonnie (Robert “Bert”) Alspaugh of Anna. 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A Japanese, daughter Yumiko (Kurita) Hayashi and a Dutch,son Joop Wijers. In-laws, Barbara and Raphael Echemann, David and Bonnie Becker, William and Thelma Becker, Susan and Robert Clune and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine, her parents, her brother, Donald and Stella Klikovits and Rosalia (Alfred) Schmitmeyer a sister in law, Susan Becker and a niece, Carol Becker.

Janet graduated from Holy Angels School as a Salutatorian. She was always working with organizations for children. She was a 4-H advisors for 18 years, Secretary/Treasurer of the Botkins Pool Committee. Janet and Tom were Ambassadors for the Youth for Understanding and placed many exchange students. Janet was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Botkins and was active by serving as Eucharistic Minister, Secretary of church council, member of Altar Rosary Sodality and played the organ. She was a lifelong member of the Democratic Party. One of the proudest times of her life was winning 4 elections for the office of Shelby County recorder and serving the people of Shelby County. Janet served as the first woman elected as Chair of the Sidney Rotary and the Sidney Noon Kiwanis.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Patrick Sloneker celebrant. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Friends may call Friday, August 4, 2017 at Adams Funeral Home 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
