Fredonia C. (Koenig) Varno

Fredonia C. Varno, age 88, of Sidney, passed away January 24, 2018 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love, Sidney.

She was born December 22, 1929 in Botkins, Ohio to the late Joseph and Mary (Steinke) Koenig.

On August 9, 1952, she married LaVerne Varno and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2005.

Fredonia is survived by children; Mark (Catherine Varno of New Knoxville, Ohio, Trina (Thomas) Riethman of Sidney, Gerald (Kelly) Varno of Wapakoneta, eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Angie Raterman of Sidney.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Fredonia was a homemaker. She loved cooking, baking, cross stitch needlepoint, and played a great game of cards. She was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.

A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 324 S. Ohio Avenue, Sidney, with Rev. Frank Amberger, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wilson Hospice and/or Holy Angels Catholic Church in Fredonia’s memory.
