Douglas M. Roby

Douglas M. Roby, 63, passed away February 5, 2018 at his residence.

He was born January 17, 1955 in Rushylvania, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father Willis A. Roby and mother Marcella (Ringler) Roby.

 He married Susan L. (Sturgill) Roby on November 29, 2008 who survives him. He is survived by children Tyler Rose, Kylie Davis of Sidney, Laura Coleman of Columbus, Angel Roby of Rushylvania, Jennifer Roby of Hannover, Maryland, brothers Willis Roby Jr. of Rushylvania, Michael (Charlotte) Roby of Rushylvania, Blaine (Patti) Roby of Rushylvania; sisters-in-law: Kim (Brian) Hendershot of Sidney, Billie (Donny) Branam of Piqua, Melissa Sturgill and fiance’ Ricky Bigelow of Waynesfield, Amy (Tony) Renner of Louisville, Ky. and Michelle Lundy of Piqua; mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law: Lucy (Lewis) and Lovell Mullins; and several loving grandchildren.

 He graduated from Ben Logan High School in 1973. He served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved the outdoors and was the best gardener and fisherman. He loved to garden with his little helper, Elianna Lundy, who assisted him often with planting trees and vegetables. Wherever Douglas was, that was where Elianna wanted to be. He loved spending time with family and friends and was a very loving and caring father. He worked at XPO Logistics Incorporated in Sidney for over 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 217 in Sidney and VFW Post 4239 in Sidney.

 Friends may call Friday, February 9, 2018, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Adams Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday at 2 P.M. at Adams Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Gillenwater officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery with full military honors.

 In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Wilson Hospice.
