SSG. DAVID THOMAS BOWIE, age 27, of Sidney, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016, in Albuquerque, NM as a result of a car accident. He was born in Fresno, CA on September 18, 1989 to Tony and Bridget Douglas of Sidney. He married Gabrielle Mitzs and she survives in St. Paul, MN.
In addition to his parents, Davis is also survived by two children: Jersey and Kyler Montgomery, both of Huber Heights; siblings and spouses: Xavier and Megan Bowie-Taylor of Dickson, TN, Joseph and Shelly Bowie of Troy and Taylor Douglas of Sidney, Eric and Amber Henne, Anthony Douglas, Crystal Douglas and Justin and Brittany Thompson, all of Sidney, OH; and Grandparents: Roland Jennings of Middletown, NY and Germaine Paltzer of Dickson, TN;
David was a 2007 graduate of Ft. Loramie High School. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
On March 5, 2009, David joined the US Army where he achieved the rank of E6. He was currently serving at Ft. Bliss, TX. David was a member of the HHB 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command. He served a tour in Afghanistan in 2012 during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Adams Funeral Home in Sidney. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Sidney with Full Military Honors. Friends may call from 8:00 AM-12:00 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
