Charles Ronald "Chuck "Ronnie" Walker

June 1, 1946 ~ August 26, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Mr. Charles Ronald “Chuck” “Ronnie” Walker died peacefully while in Hospice after a brief illness on August 26, 2017 in Troy, OH at the early age of 71.

Charles is survived by his children, Douglas Walker, Robert Walker, Viktoria White and Sigurjon Viktorsson; grandchildren, James Bourne’, Kylea Walker, Jennifer Bourne’ and Roylee Walker; and several great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sigridur Walker; his dear mother and father and his much loved brothers, Rusty and Phillip Walker.

Charles was born on June 1, 1946 in Manchester, KY to Chloe (Ledford) Walker and Clarence Walker.  He graduated from Clay County High School and went on to college earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance.  He then served his country, first in the Army and then the Air Force.  Charles proudly served in Vietnam as a Communications Specialist.

He met and married the love of his life, Sigridur “Siggs” Walker while stationed in Iceland at the end of his tour.

After moving to Ohio, Charles began working for The Associates as the youngest Branch Finance Manager ever appointed.  His children remember him as a driven and hardworking dad who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Charles was accomplished at business and finance and led a team at Paul Sherry for several years until his retirement early this summer.  He was a generous, witty individual who loved being involved in several clubs and groups.  He was a life member of the VFW, Color Guard and an active member of Piqua Fish and Game, where he was an NRA certified Chief Range Officer.

He was passionate about gun safety, his military service, his friends and family and was a true leader.  If you were his friend, you were his family.

A funeral is scheduled for 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH.  Full military honors will be presented by American Legion Post 217 and VFW Post 4239.  Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charles’s life.
