Billy Cantrell

Rev. Billy Lige Cantrell, age 71 of Piqua, went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1946 in West Liberty, KY to the late Earl and Lizzie Cantrell. He married Sherry Hughes on September 11, 1965. She survives.

Other Survivors include one son: Jeff (Trish) Cantrell of Piqua; one Daughter: Melinda (Charlie) Ward of West Harrison, Indiana; 3 Granddaughters: Megan (Brandon) Mosely of Centerville, Morgan (Jordan) Wallace of Greensboro, NC, Kayla Ward of West Harrison, Indiana; one Grandson: Josh Ward of West Harrison, Indiana; 3 brothers: Roe (Flossie) Cantrell of Sidney, Earl (Cindy) Cantrell Jr. and Ralph (Betty) Cantrell; and Sisters: Ruthie (Darrell) Coffee of West liberty, Ky., Revil (Ralph) Ross of Piqua, Linda (Larry) Caudill of Salyersville, KY, Glenda (John) Umbaugh of Sebring, Florida, Onie (Bill) Faulk of Lenoir City, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, one son Billy Lige Cantrell Jr and 5 sisters (India Smith, Decie Vincent, Polly May Legg, Lovell Cantrell and infant sister Connie Cantrell) have proceeded him in death.

Dad loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren. He was a Freewill Baptist Minister for over 40 years and loved going to church. He also loved watching the Reds, Bengals and Wrestling. He loved raising a garden and coon hunting in his younger days.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Bunker Hill Church, Houston Road, Houston, OH with Rev Bob Jenkins and Rev. Denvil (Roe) Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Lockington. Viewing will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday at the church.
