Forest Phillips, age 91, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He was born on December 28, 1932, in Wayne County, KY, to the late Otto and Clara Mae (Correll) Phillips.
Forest is survived by his wife: Susie Mae Phillips; two sons: Terry Phillips and Timmie (Alissa) Phillips both of Sidney; one daughter: Tammy (Jerry) Schutte of Sidney; one brother: Gilson Phillips; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 16 great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Gloria Ann (Phillips) Jones, Gertie Mae (Phillips) Gilreath and Jim Perk (Coffey) Gilreath; and two brothers: Woodrow Coffey and Theodore Coffey.
Forest was a manager at Johnson’s Restaurant before retiring from Stolle Corp. as a Tool & Die Maker after many years. He was of the Baptist faith. Forest was a beekeeper. He loved doing woodworking. He enjoyed working in his apple and peach orchards. Forest loved camping and hiking in southern Kentucky with his family. He was an outdoorsman and liked hunting, hiking and camping. Forest also loved working in his garden.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
